Mar 04, 2003 GRASSLICE CAVE: (The Victor Caves - 1) Field notes: I. C. CONOLLEY Cavers: R. S. Stewart, I. C. Conolley, M. Taylor The fourth day of caving, Tuesday, March 4, 2003 and Victor boasts of several caves in the area, the Chatsworth area that he knows of. He says he has never been in them but says they seem to go pretty far in. But notwithstanding this claim, this proves to be the worst caving day, having hiked for an eternity through the usual pasture but one that seemed to manufacture the vermins. The first showing is a huge breakdown chamber. A scramble down takes one to the end, possibly about forty feet. No special features but like a talus slope. |
