CLOWN RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

 

 

 

As a clown veteran, I have learned to follow certain guidelines when engaging in clown activity. These are the basic principles of clown action which I recommend:

 

Three Rs of Clown Action

 

1.      RESPECT

·        Do unto other clowns as you would have them do unto you.

·        Maybe other clowns have different needs/ traditions for you to observe before/ as you make fun.

·        Life is precious. We can't make it, so let's not take/ break it. Avoid hurting or endangering yourself and others.

 

2.      RESPONSIBILITY

·        You may act before you think, but be prepared for the consequences.

·        Take care of the world as if it were yours (it is, for now, clown steward)

·        Take care of everyone and everything

·         

 

3.      RIGHT ACTION

·        Right timing is based on careful training/ giving yourself totally over to a higher power. Simple spontaneity is best.

·        Right thought is the basis of right action. Train your mind to be true, clear and strong.

·        Right heart: only you can judge.

 

BUT

 

There'll be times when none of the above applies, and it'll be totally up to you to break every rule and just DO THE RIGHT THING!!!
